About Measuring

The best way to order from our website, is to first get your measurements.
It only takes a couple minutes, and saves so much time (and money) for return shipping, exchanges, etc.
For dresses, shirts or jackets, first measure around the largest part of your bust
(not your bra size, that is very different! You want to measure the largest part of your chest - where your bust sticks out the most). Then measure around your hips. For shirt, jacket or dress length, we measure from the top of the shoulder down. For pant length, we measure length from the center of the crotch seam (where both of the pant legs meet at top of inner thigh) down. And for a skirt length, we measure from the waist down.
All measurements listed on our website are taken unstretched, relaxed, laying flat. (when you order pants or a skirt in stretchy material, you will want to go appx 5"-10" smaller than your hip measurements, so you have a snug fit around the waist & hips.)
Don't have a tape measure? Use anything you can wrap around yourself - string, necktie, belt, cord, thread, etc.
Chest measurement: wrap it around the biggest part of your chest, then hold it up to any type of ruler, yardstick, etc - anything that shows inches on it. Use the same method for the rest of your measurements.

NOTE: All measurements listed on our website are always an approximation. Because fabrics stretch differently, etc. - always allow the possibility of a few inches difference!

Don't have a Ruler?
It should use an entire letter size sheet of paper,
diagonally from top left to bottom right as shown below
** note both the beginning & end of the ruler have small spaces, be sure to cut these off **

NOTE! Garment measurements differ, depending on the item & manufacturers, so we always take the extra time to measure each & every item that we sell, and list it on each individual item page, usually just below the picture. We want you to know exactly what you're getting!!
The measurements that you see on each page are the measurements of the garment itself.
Our brand runs very big, however some of our outlet items are from other manufacturers, and can run much smaller. This is why it's good to know your measurements, so you can choose the best size on each item!

For Garment Measurements:

When the material is stretchy, we always measure in a relaxed, or "unstretched" state, unless otherwise noted.
(you can also click on the drawing below for where measurements are taken)

Chest: When measuring your bust, measure all the way around the biggest part of your chest. Your bra size is not the same as your chest measurement!

Hip measurements. These are hard to take, because not everyone's hips end up in the same place. So This measurement is *always* an approximation, but generally on a long dress we will measure it halfway between the chest & bottom hem. (when measuring your hips, it's usually best to measure around the widest part of your hips) On pants, usually appx 10"-12" down from the waistline.

Skirt or Pant length: We measure from top to bottom.

Pant inseam: We measure from the seam in the crotch where the two legs meet, to the bottom.

Shirt or Dress Length: We measure from the top of the shoulder seam (at the neck opening), to the bottom of the shirt/dress. If it is sleeveless such as a tank, we will measure from the shoulder seam to the bottom.

Here is a chart that may be helpful:
If you want an appx floor length evening dress:

Your Height: Length to Order:
4'10 - 4'11" 46" - 48"
5'0" - 5'2" 48" - 50"
5'3" - 5'5" 52" - 54"
5'6" - 5'7" 54" - 56"
5'8" - 5'9" 56" - 58"
5'10" - 5'11" 58" - 60"
6'0" - 6'1" 60" - 62"
6'2" - 6'3" 62" - 64"
6'4" - 6'5" 66" - 68"

(for ankle length, take off appx 3" - 4")

*** note - these length measurements are approximate, as we all stick out in different places, in different amounts!

IMPORTANT! The measurements on the drawing below show how to measure a garment, not yourself!
When measuring yourself, make sure and take the tape measure all the way around the biggest part of your chest, and then the biggest part of your hip.
